We only use breeding stocks that have undergone extensive health screening/testing.
It is always good to know that puppies' parents have hip and eye results. You are very fortunate when you find a breeder who performs additional tests such as heart, elbows, thyroid, yearly bloodwork, von Willandbrands Disease, and prcd-PRA.
We are honored to be able to join this dedicated group and we strive to provide the healthiest possible puppy to you.
Our breeding stocks are tested such as follows:
Cerf(Canine Eye Registration Foundation)
prcd-PRA (OPTIGEN)
Hips/Elbows (OFA and PennHip or BVA)
Patella Luxation(OFA)
Cardiac (OFA)
vWD/von Willebrand's Disease(vetGen)
CBC/Full Blood Panel
Thyroid (Dr.Dodds)
We have always believed that handling dogs at an early age helps with the physical and social development of the puppy.
I start puppies as soon as they start walking to follow me and to be a part of the household. I have them around our dogs, TVs, vacume cleaner, dish washers, children, and all those dairy activities. I get them comfortable in a crate, go for car rides as they get older, have strangers(our friends and thier children) handle them and give them lots of love.
| Touching | We begin to touch the puppies all over their bodies. Each puppy gets individual attention daily. |
| Grooming | We will clip/file their nails, and gently brush, so that they are used to it. We also place each puppy on a grooming table, not for a grooming purpose, but introduce to be on the table comfortably. |
| Obedience | We begin their kindergarten obedience around 4-5 weeks with a "come" and work with "sit", "stay", "off", and "potty". We will also introduce wearing a collar and walking on a leash. |
